Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side.
The summer’s gone, and all the roses falling,
It’s you, It’s you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer’s in the meadow,
Or when the valley’s hushed and white with snow,
It’s I’ll be here in sunshine or in shadow,—
Oh, Danny boy, O Danny boy, I love you so!
But when ye come, and all the flowers are dying,
If I am dead, as dead I well may be,
Ye’ll come and find the place where I am lying,
And kneel and say an Avè there for me.
And I shall hear, though soft you tread above me,
And all my grave will warmer, sweeter be,
For you will bend and tell me that you love me,
And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me!
A few tracks absolutely bump in this album. Personally a huge fan of Off The Grid and Jail. The religious overtones of those album seemed far more apparent than his previous albums, but I’m also not a Kanye expert.
I’m breaking myself down
Breaking myself down a bit too much
I’m eroding
I’m eroding my sense of pride
Crossroading
At a crossroads in my life
I discovered Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners at a particularly pivotal moment in my life. Overcoming a serious sickness with unbearable kidney stones, I felt life eroding the sense of pride I’d built over the last four years of college. They are raw, simplistic, and heartfelt. Nothing fancy, just a couple people recording music in a barebones studio. I consider them to be a huge inspiration musically and a band I’d hope to one day mirror.
Not a single track on this album that doesn’t bump.
